Hey there sea changers, and welcome back to my series of MLM reviews. Today we are going to a take look into company offering products across a large range of niches with my 5LINX MLM Review. Whether it’s wellness, financial services or home-based products, online sales within the Network Marketing can be extremely lucrative with many making a good living selling items via their online stores. So, what is 5LINX all about? Let's have a look and find out…
What is MLM?
Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs are the traditional mainstay of the ‘party plan' world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. And as technologies improve, companies such as 5LINX are providing opportunities across a number of niches as well – mainly due to the fact that much of the sales and marketing is now being managed online.

You too can start your very own online business here that can make you money from anywhere in the world!!
The ‘multi level' aspects of MLM come from its hierarchical nature in which you make commissions based not only on those that you sell to, but also the sales of those whom you ‘sign' into membership arrangements as well.
In short, the process works as follows:
- You join the program, either via referral from another person (known as your up line) or directly through their website.
- You promote the products of the company via parties, workshops or online.
- As you make sales, you offer incentives to your customers to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
- That new member is then placed ‘underneath' you in a hierarchical arrangement (known as your down line).
- You, and a number of levels of your up line, then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
- If they manage to refer their customers into memberships, they also become a member of your down line allowing you to make up line commissions as well.
The number of levels of your up and down lines will vary depending on the program you have joined. Commission rates will also change as your down line grows or contracts and many will also offer other incentives such as total company sales percentages and/or access to membership prizes as your own business grows.

MLM program outline
The 5LINX MLM program calls their members ‘Independent Marketing Representatives' who are part of what appears to be a simple program with a common retail and downline commission structure and a good number of bonus options included. Their compensation plan is available via a simple web search and within other 5linx reviews so here are the basics as I have found them…
Base Commission rate: 10% to 20%
Down line commission rates: 5 – 50% dependent upon rank
Minimum monthly spend to qualify for commissions
To qualify for downline commissions, IMRs are required to meet Personal Customer Point targets of at least 8 per month. This can be made of personal or customer sales. Base 10% sales commissions however can be earned without the need to meet or maintain sales targets.
For some other bonuses, IMRs are required to subscribe to selected 5LINX products.
Payment terms: Monthly.
Application required?: Yes, Application form on website.
Purchase requirements to join: Not that I could find
Marketing materials provided: Not stated

How can I get paid?
Ok, so from what I can garner from the compensation plan, there are 8 ways in which IMRs can make money when they promote and sell 5LINX products. These are fairly straight forward and there are a few of the extra bonuses found in many other MLM arrangements. The 8 payment options for the 5LINX MLM program are outlined as follows:
1. Quick Start Bonus
The Quick Start Bonus is available to new IMRs who manage to reach the rank of Executive Trainer within their first 30 days of joining. These payments are as follows:
To meet the rank of ET, IMRs must acquire at least 12 customer points and two qualified downline members. IMRs who are able to meet the above requirements within their first 60 days of operation can earn 50% of the Quick Start Bonus.
2. Earned Position Bonus
In addition to the Quick Start Bonus above, IMRs can earn the higher Earned Position Bonus for reaching higher ranks within the same time frame. These are as below:
Earned position bonuses for ED and ND are paid once position has been maintained for 30 consecutive days. The earned position of SVP must be maintained for 60 consecutive days before bonus is paid.
3. Customer Acquisition Bonuses
If the sponsoring IMR is able to nurture an enrollee to the achievement of their own Quick Start or Earned Position Bonus, then they will qualify for the Customer Acquisition Bonuses as follows:
4. Open Line Bonuses
In addition to earning individual Customer Acquisition Bonuses as above, when a new IMR enrolls and gets qualified in their first 30 days, the sponsoring IMR may also be eligible to receive open-line bonuses based on monthly production. These are paid as below:
To receive an open-line bonus, sponsors must be at rank of ET or above with the minimum number of IMRs within their downline as above. IMRs must also have a personal TeeVee account in order to be eligible for any open-line bonuses.
5. Customer Milestone Bonuses
The Customer Milestone Bonus is driven directly by the acquisition of new customers with bonuses of $100 for 25 and $250 for 50 new customers within a calendar month.
6. Commission On Product Sales
These are the commission earned by IMRs on personal and customer based sales each month as follows:
And as per the table above, once an IMR reaches the rank of ET and above, they earn commission based on the sales of members of their downline as well.
7. Residual Commission on Personal, Referred and TeamSales
These are the 5LINX version of traditional downline commissions earned by IMRs based on sales within their downlines. In the case of the 5LINX MLM program, these payments are as per the following table:
It should be noted that commission percentages are based on the commissional value (CV) of the products being sold. The CV is the amount a product or service order is going to pay to the seller and their upline each applicable month in the form of Residual Income. If, for example, a CV is $10 on a product, a specified percentage goes to the seller and a number of their eligible up lines.
8. Platinum Pool
The platinum pool is shared by all qualified Platinum Senior Vice Presidents (PSVP) based on production. A contribution of 1% on all product and service sales is added the pool. In addition, $20 for every qualified IMR is added to the pool. The Platinum Pool is then paid out at the first International event each year.
Ranking structure
5LINX, as with most MLM programs, uses ranking structures on which to base commission payments and other bonuses upon. Rankings for the 5LINX MLM program are as follows (note personal and team sales qualification targets as well):
Again, as is common with almost all MLM programs, rank progression is determined by both the number of members within the Stylist's down line, and the total sales made by those members per month. Ranks can rise and fall based on the ability (or dis-ability) to reach the required member and sales targets.
What is good about it?
So, after a good look around the site and looking at all the options I could find, I do like the following:
- There is a large array of home service based products to choose from.
- Commission rates for entry level sales are good.
- Program is simple and easy to follow.
- Commissions can be earned without the need to meet sales targets.
What is no so good about it?
There are also some things to be aware of including:
- The program is heavily based on recruitment.
- The company executive have suffered some legal issues (see below)
How much can you make?
5LINX provides an income disclosure statement on its website which highlights that as with most MLM programs that the percentage of members making the upper rank levels – and hence earning a living – is very low. Although it does appear to show higher average incomes at the lower ranks than many others I have seen.
My final thoughts
Look, MLM is not an easy platform to make money in but if I am being honest there is a little here to put this program above many others I have seen. The program is pretty straight forward with common commission arrangements and the ability to make sales online.
It does also appear from the Income Disclosure Statement that there are a few who make good money. So if you are interested in selling the multiple services on offer with a large customer list at your disposal and the ability to generate good sales via online processes, then the 10 – 20% base commission rates might just appeal here.
My only concern here centres around the fact that the 5linx compensation plan does appear to be heavily geared towards recruitment with rankings and many bonuses reliant on the introduction of new IMRs.
Legal Issues
One thing to consider prior to joining this program however is the fact that by 2019, all three of the original founders of 5LINX had been found guilty in a U.S. court on charges of defrauding investors and filing false tax returns. The company however has continued to operate albeit in a reduced size.
