Our first site, Road Runner Sports, promotes itself as the ‘world's largest running and walking store” with ranges of men's, women's and children's sporting apparel and shoes. These are available on all of the major and well-known brands and includes items for:

At first look it appears that their main focus is shoes, they also offer products in other categories including clothing, full sporting outfits and accessories. And whilst that list really doesn't even go close to outlining what they have, it can safely be assumed here that if there is something that you need to assist with running, working out, playing sports, swimming or just looking cool, then you will be able to find it here in any brand that you need.
This is a site that you could absolutely base an affiliate business on within any activewear, sports, fitness, fashion or sports specific niche whether it be higher priced or budget arrangements that you are covering. And as good cross selling opportunity, there is also a range of fan based offerings (replica baseball caps etc.) as well.

Their products are well-known with many purchases made on the back of their extensive sports star endorsement programs with an apparel catalogue is so large that it could not all be listed here. The advantage with this site – especially when compared to the monster brands above – is the uniqueness of their products. Every piece is uniquely silk-screened by hand allowing for variations and cool inconsistencies within their range.
There is probably not enough here to base an affiliate business on however it would make a great individualistic addition to just about any women's fashion or gift site for that fitness minded friend.

dk active is an Australian activewear based site that focuses on environmentally responsible design and ethical, sustainable business practices to offer a range of products for “everybody and every body”. Their range is a decent size and available in men's, women's, plus size and maternity options including:
- Crops
- Tights
- Shorts
- Tops and Tanks
- Jackets and Hoodies
- Swimwear
- Pants
- Dresses
Again, there may not be enough here to base an affiliate business on, however it would make a great addition if you are looking at smaller boutique, sustainable or big brand alternative fitness gear as well as plus size or maternity fashion sites. Personally, if you were looking to get away from the big brands, then an affiliate business incorporating this site and Love Fitness above would be a great starting point… just sayin…

Sweaty Betty is another great site for those looking to focus on workout gear for women. Their UK based “beautiful and technical styles that go from studio to street” are designed by women for women (hence their ‘bum-sculpting mission'). Their range is quite popular and well-known and includes:

As with the two sites above, there may just not be enough here to base a whole affiliate site around but it would make a great addition to any active wear, fitness, clothing or fashion house related business. Their products are also available in a number of stores around the world (including Harrods) giving that ‘ease of purchase' feel to the brand that affiliates can utilise within their posts – i.e “If you can't get to Harrod's, then buy it here…”

There is also a smaller range of casual attire as well including Ts, shorts and hoodies. The real advantage here if you are in the cycling niche is the ability to create custom designed cycling tops in the colours of your club, corporate or personal requirements.
This would make a great addition to any cycling or running based affiliate site or as a cross selling opportunity in the activewear or fitness niches.

Hmmm, as with the very first site above, I must admit I did think a long and hard about whether this site is really an activewear site or not in the essence that it contains a lot of fan gear etc. However, it has made the cut based on its branded workout gear so here we go. Prep Sportswear is a massive site offering sports apparel and active wear that is available for just about every establishment there is including:
- School
- College
- Little League
- Golf Course
- Faternity
- Military
- Horse racing
Added to the above there are also smaller options for professional sports from a number of countries around the globe.
There really is a lot here and much of it is designed to wear whilst playing the sport at the relevant school or establishment – golf polo shirts and college track shirts for example – making it a possible affiliate business base site for those looking to specify their niche for any of the above. Their customisation options allow for new establishments to be added as well.

Amazon Associates
Alternatively, should you wish to set up your site up with a range from a few different brands or companies on the same site then you can do so via Amazon. Amazon provides access to a good range of active and sportswear related products and has a fairly good affiliate program as well. So if you wish, join the Amazon Associates program, locate the best products relevant to your site within Amazon itself and you can post links on your own site as well.
Amazon's commission rates are not too bad and some prefer this avenue due to the sheer amount of traffic and trustworthiness that comes with a company site of this size.
How to find your own affiliate programs
As stated earlier, by outlining the sites above I have really just tried to give you a good cross section of the types of programs that are out there by listing the really good ones in each ‘category'. That does not mean that you cannot find affiliate programs that better suit what it is that you are trying to do within this space especially as I could never even begin to cover active wear related requirement or sub niche in the one post. Luckily for us, there is a simple way to find these programs online.
All you need to do is enter “affiliate: niche type” into your search engine (substituting ‘niche type‘ for whatever product it is that you are choosing to sell).
There are activewear related affiliate programs for everything else that we have listed at the top of this page as well – you will just need to have a look around until you find one or two that suit your site. Once you have completed your searches, you can look through and find programs that:
- Relate to your niche/problems that you are solving.
- Have quality products – your brand can be severely damaged if you promote poor quality products.
- Have solid payment and customer service arrangement.
- Pay decent commissions.
- Have good testimonials covering commission payouts and quality of product.
In most cases, you will need to apply for the program before you are allowed to promote their products – don’t take this step lightly or you will be rejected. Affiliate programs will generally want to know:
- Your website name.
- Traffic levels.
- Why you want to join – (so I can make money by selling your yoga pants is unfortunately not generally a good enough answer).
- How you plan to promote their products.
