Cosmetics MLM Companies

Hey there Sea Changers… Recently I have been looking into the world of Multi Level Marketing (a.k.a Network Marketing) to see if there are some online business opportunities there. One area that is really booming in this space recently is within the world of cosmetics. So, in order to make things a little easier for those of you interested in checking this out, I have created an outline below of the MLM companies dealing with Cosmetics that I have found in my travels. Let’s check them out below:

Note: I am not a member of the any of the programs listed here (and hence make no commissions from any of the links included within this post). The reason for this is that I prefer to write these posts based on what a newbie would be seeing if they were interested in joining – that way I feel I can make a better judgment on what it is that these companies are offering within their programs.

What is MLM?

Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs are the mainstay of the ‘party plan’ world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. and, recently, becoming more and more prevalent within the Cosmetics markets. From the outset, I would be remiss if I didn’t make it clear here that this is not an easy area to make money in (which is why many look into affiliate marketing as an alternative). Success is generally experienced by only a small percentage of those who join the programs and it takes time, patience and a lot of hard work. That said, if you have a good network of customers, or are passionate about the world of Cosmetics or beauty products, then maybe one of the programs below could be worth it for you.

In short, the MLM process works as follows:

  1. You join the program, either via referral from another person (known as your up line) or directly through their website.
  2. You promote the products of the company via parties, workshops or online.
  3. As you make sales, you offer incentives to your customers to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
  4. That new member is then placed ‘underneath’ you in a hierarchical arrangement (known as your down line).
  5. You, and a number of levels of your up line, then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
  6. If they manage to refer their customers into memberships, they also become a member of your down line allowing you to make up line commissions as well.

The number of levels of your up and down lines will vary depending on the program you have joined. Commission rates will also change as your down line grows or contracts and many will also offer other incentives such as total company sales percentages and/or access to membership prizes as you build your business.

How do they calculate commissions?

When it comes to the earning of money via MLM, most programs manage their downline commissions and rankings via the calculation of Personal Volume (PV) points (there are different definitions of this such as Commission, Business or Group Volume (GV) but they all mean the same thing). Most MLM programs manage it this way in that commissions are paid on the points assigned to a product rather than the entire sales total. For example, if a product retails for $100 and has a 50PV rating (these generally vary from product to product) then the commission is calculated on the $50 purchase only. So if a commission rate for a product is 20% then it will generate a $10 payment to the sponsor (i.e. 20% of the $50 commissionable amount).

PV calculations can range from 1 point per $1 up to 1 per $1.50 or even $2. Obviously the closer to the dollar mark the calculation the better. In addition, most programs assign minimum PV sales per month – either personally or via customer sales – in order to qualify for commissions. Payments and rankings are then also calculated based on the total PV of the member, and their downline.

Cosmetics MLM Programs

Ok, let’s have a look (in no particular order)…

Jeunesse Global

Jeunesse Global MLM Review - opportunity

Jeunesse was founded in 2009 by Randy Ray and Wendy Lewis. The company in based in Florida in the United States with contact offices in over 60 countries worldwide. They promote their products as being “backed by science and cutting-edge technology, this family of exclusive lines is created to help you look young, feel young and live young.” Like many other companies of this type, the site is built around its MLM program with most non product specific information aimed at its program and opportunity to earn as a distributor.

I always thought of Jeunesse as a company that offers supplements – which they are, but they also provide a very large and decent range of beauty products as well. They see this as a tandem approach via their Youth Enhancement System (Y.E.S) to assist with their look, feel and live young mantra. Their main list of beauty products include:

  • Moisturisers
  • Cleansers
  • Masques
  • Serums
  • Makeup
  • Hair Care

And, as mentioned above, they also offer a range of supplement and wellness based products as well.

  • Vitamins
  • Antioxidants
  • Food supplements
  • ‘Zen’ fitness supplements

Jeunesse Global MLM Review - products 2

The Jeunesse MLM program is called their Financial Rewards program which calls their members Distributors. At first look, it appears to be a fairly stock standard program and commission structure. As mentioned earlier, as with many companies that offer MLM opportunities their website and processes appear to set it up as a network marketing company first, and a marketplace second (they actually make comment to this effect in their company blurb). The compensation plan for this program, whilst a little confusing, is available on their site so let’s check out the basics.

Base Commission rate: 15 – 40% for Distributors

Down line commission rates: 5 – 20% to 5 levels (1st generation (down line level 1) rates 20% – Jade Executive rank and up only).

Minimum monthly spend to qualify for commissions

younique MLM review - products

The Younique MLM program calls its members ‘presenters” with the opportunity to take part in the “Most Beautifully Simple Compensation Plan in the Industry”. On the surface, it certainly looks simple with a straight forward unilevel commission arrangement with none of the endless bonus opportunities that some other MLM programs offer – at least that is what I can garner from their simple compensation plan. Let’s however start with the basics:

Base Commission rate: Up to 30%

How to find your own MLM programs

The sites above have hopefully provided you with a good cross section in regards to what is available within the world of Cosmetics based MLM programs. That does not mean that you cannot find others that better suit what it is that you are trying to do within this space. Luckily for us, there is a simple way to find these programs online.

All you need to do is enter “MLM: niche type” into your search engine (substituting ‘niche type‘ for whatever product it is that you are choosing to sell). So to find possible MLM sites that offer cosmetics based products, you can try “MLM: Cosmetics” within your search engine (you could also try makeup, skincare etc.):

Cosmetics MLM - search

In most cases, you will need to apply for the program before you are allowed to promote their products – This is generally not as regimented as many affiliate marketing programs however if asked for more information don’t take this step lightly or you may be rejected. On top of the basic information, MLM programs may want to know:

  • Why you want to join
  • How you plan to promote their products.

Most platforms however will provide you with a good amount of promotional materials such as text links, ad banners, posters, guides, e-books and so on. Many even provide a personalized website within which to manage your sales.

Conclusion

So… There are some of the best Cosmetics MLM programs to work with in 2020. Hey there, my name is Paul and I am the owner and founder of Make That Sea Change.  I spent 30 years in a cubicle working the 9 to 5 grind and just wanted to live at the beach.  I was lucky enough to achieve that with the help of my wife and our new Pilates studio.

Then I decided to help fund my new sea change with some affiliate marketing.  I joined Wealthy Affiliate, and as they say, the rest is history.

Let me know how I can help you fund your sea change today!
