Hey there sea changers, and welcome back to my series of MLM reviews. Today we are going to a take look into the world of wild blueberries as a health and wellness product with my Kyäni MLM Review. Kyäni is yet another in the long, long line of health and wellness MLM programs based around supplements designed to resolve issues around modern diet. So, what is the Kyäni MLM all about? Let’s have a look…

What is MLM?
Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs are the traditional mainstay of the ‘party plan’ world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. and, of course within the supplements and weight loss markets. MLMs have become more popular in recent times – mainly due to the fact that much of the sales and marketing is now being managed online. This has also seen a massive increase in supplements based companies starting to get in on the action too.

The ‘multi level’ aspects of MLM come from its hierarchical nature in which you make commissions based not only on those that you sell to, but also the sales of those whom you ‘sign’ into membership arrangements as well.
In short, the process works as follows:
- You join the program, either via referral from another person (known as your up line) or directly through their website.
- You promote the products of the company via parties, workshops or online.
- As you make sales, you offer incentives to your customers to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
- That new member is then placed ‘underneath’ you in a hierarchical arrangement (known as your down line).
- You, and a number of levels of your up line, then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
- If they manage to refer their customers into memberships, they also become a member of your down line allowing you to make up line commissions as well.
The number of levels of your up and down lines will vary depending on the program you have joined. Commission rates will also change as your down line grows or contracts and many will also offer other incentives such as total company sales percentages and/or access to membership prizes as your own business grows.

MLM Program outline
The Kyäni MLM program calls their members ‘Independent Business Partners (BPs)’ who are part of what appears to be a fairly straight forward program (some options did take a bit to decipher) with a number of downline commissions and bonuses options included.
The compensation plan is available on their website so here are the basics as I have found them…
Base Commission rate: The difference between wholesale pricing and retail customer pricing – looks to be around 15 – 20%
Down line commission rates: 1 – 15% to 9 levels (rank Qualified Distributor and above) – first level downline 15%
Minimum monthly spend to qualify for commissions
To qualify for downline commissions, BPs are required to be at a minimum rank of Qualified Distributor via monthly QV targets of at least 100 per month. This can be made of personal or customer sales. Base retail profit sale commissions however can be earned without the need to meet or maintain sales targets.
Payment terms: Monthly.
Application required?: Yes, Application form on website.
Purchase requirements to join: Yes
Although not mandatory, new BPs have the opportunity to purchase one of the following three starter kits:

Marketing materials provided: As per starter kit above.
Within most MLM programs, rankings and commissions are determined by the total qualifying volume (QV) generated by the BP and their down line within a calendar month with points assigned to each product. These point allocations can range from 50 to 100% of the retail price of each product (before tax and shipping) and vary from item to item and currency of sale.
In the case of the Kyäni MLM program, QV is assigned to products and used to determine rank and commissions. A second allocation – called the Commissionable Volume (CV) is also applied in order to calculate some bonuses. I could not however, locate any information as to how QV or CV points are allocated to products.

How can I get paid?
Ok, so from what I can garner from the compensation plan, there are 12 ways in which BPs can make money when they promote and sell Kyäni products. These are fairly straight forward and there are a few of the extra bonuses found in many other MLM arrangements. The 12 payment options for the Kyäni MLM program are outlined as follows:
1. Retail Profit Bonus
These are the base commissions earned by the general day to day retail sales that BPs can generate in person or via their personalised website. The compensation plan does not outline a percentage as such rather explaining it as follows:
“Assume a customer places an order of $140 worth of products—an order which would cost an Independent Business Partner only $120. The Business Partner would then earn the Retail Profit Bonus of $140-$120 = $20”.
This puts the commission at around the 15% mark.
BPs do not need to meet minimum sales targets to qualify for the Retail Profti Bonus as they simply need to purchase the product at the discounted rate and on sell to their customers.
2. Prime Bonus
The Prime Bonus is paid to BPs who are able to sign their customers into a Kyäni Prime membership with payments as follows:

3. Customer Builder Bonus
Designed to encourage sales, the Customer Builder Bonus is paid when the combined sales of the BP’s customers reach targets as below:

BPs may only earn one bonus level per month.
4. Team Bonus
The Team bonus is the first step in the downline payment structure within the compensation plan in that BPs are rewarded for building and nurturing their downline. This bonus is a common one amongst MLM programs in that BPs earn extra payments for enticing new members to purchase starter kits at time of enrolment.
In this case, bonuses are paid on the SV of the starter pack (I could not find any reference to what the value of this is) and paid based on the BPs rank, and the rank of the BPs between them and the enrolment member as follows:

To qualify for the Team Bonus (and all ongoing commissions and bonuses below) a BP must maintain a rank of Qualified Distributor via a monthly QV targets of at least 100 per month.
5. Fast Start Bonus
The Fast Start Bonus is another commonly utilised MLM payment option that rewards new BPs that can climb through the ranks quickly. In the case of Kyäni, these are paid at achievement of certain ranks as below:
- Achieve the rank of Jade within the first 31 days – $200 bonus.
- Achieve the rank of Pearl or above within the first 31 days – $500 bonus.
- Achieve the rank of Sapphire or above within the first 31 days and maintain Sapphire in the next calendar month – $500 for Pearl and be eligible for an extra $1000 down payment for the Sapphire Car Program.
Only one bonus type is paid – i.e. BPs who reach the Pearl bonus do not receive the Jade option as well. The first day of membership is considered Day 0.
6. Power Play
The Power Play is another incentive to drive sales within the BPs downline with a $100 bonus ($50 to the sponsor) each time the following is achieved:
- Three personally sponsored Business Partners, each with a minimum of 100 QV.
- Three personally enrolled customers with a combined total of 150 QV or more within a calendar month.
BPs will earn this bonus each time they can run a Power Play.
7. Kyäni PayGate Accumulator
From what I can tell, the PayGate Accumulator is Kyäni’s version of the traditional binary downline commissions paid by many MLM programs. In this case, the payments appear to be run at a generational level explained in the compensation plan as follows:
“Kyäni PayGate Accumulator calculates residual income monthly by starting at the bottom of the Placement tree and accumulating volume flowing upward until it reaches a Business Partner with a qualifying PayGate where it pays out the earned commission.”
Once the above has been run, commissions are paid as per the table below:

8. Generation Check Match
As part to the binary option above, the Generation Check Match incorporates traditional MLM unilevel arrangements where BPs earn a percentage of every PayGate payout from sponsored BPs to 9 levels as below:

9. Diamond Pool
We now head into the leadership bonus options designed to reward those who reach the higher ranks within the program. The first of these is the Diamond Pool where 1.5% of all Global CV every month is calculated monthly and paid in shares dependent upon rank as below:
- Diamond 1 Share
- Blue Diamond 2 Shares
- Green Diamond 4 Shares
- Purple Diamond 8 Shares
- Red Diamond 8 Shares
- Double Red Diamond 8 Shares
- Black Diamond 8 Shares
- Double Black Diamond 8 Shares
To participate in this pool, BPs must be at rank of Diamond or above in the current month and one of the two previous months.
10. Red Diamond Pool
The Red Diamond Pool accumulates 0.5% of all Global CV every month and distributed as follows:
- Red Diamond 1 Share
- Double Red Diamond 2 Shares
- Black Diamond 2 Shares
- Double Black Diamond 2 Shares
To participate in this pool, BPs must be at rank of Red Diamond or above in the current month and one of the two previous months.
11. Infinity Bonus
The Infinity Bonus pays Black Diamond and Double Black Diamond a 1%commission on the total CV of their downline.
Payments are generational in that if the Black Diamond or Double Black Diamond BP has another Black Diamond or higher in their downline then the Infinity Bonus paid out below them becomes one-half.
To participate in the bonus, a BP must be at rank of Black Diamond or above in the current month and one of the two previous months.
12. Kyäni Drive your Dream Car Program
And finally, the Kyäni Drive your Dream Car Program, another common MLM option, is paid to BPs at rank of Sapphire and higher. This bonus is paid in five tiers based on ranks and can reach a monthly payment of $10,000 at Black Diamond.
Ranking structure
Kyäni, as with most MLM programs, uses ranking structures on which to base commission payments and other bonuses upon. Rankings for the Kyäni MLM program are as follows (note personal and team sales qualification targets as well):

Again, as is common with almost all MLM programs, rank progression is determined by both the number of members within the BP’s down line, and the total sales made by those members per month. Ranks can rise and fall based on the ability (or dis-ability) to reach the required member and sales targets.
What is good about it?
So, after a good look around the site and looking at all the options I could find, I do like the following:
- Base commissions can be earned without the need to meet sales targets.
- Good number of commission and bonus options.
What is no so good about it?
There are also some things to be aware of including:
- Information in regards to QV, CV etc. point calculation is not evident (that I could find).
How much can you make?
Kyäni does provide an income disclosure statement on its website as below. Based on this information, it can be seen that like most MLM programs, the percentage of members who make a living from the program is less than 1%.

My final thoughts
Look, MLM is not an easy platform to make money in and there is not much that I have seen here to put this program above the many others I have seen. However, the program is pretty straight forward with common commission arrangements and the ability to make sales online. So if you are passionate about these products with a large customer list at your disposal and the ability to generate good sales via online processes, then the base commission rates might just appeal here (although they are a little lower than some others in this niche).
Once you have joined, there are not the usual financial pressures of needing to make minimum personal purchases in order to qualify for commissions as long as you can make them within your down line. Although from what I can see, I think if you are going to succeed within this MLM program, you will need to have a good array of demonstration stock on hand. You may also need to bump up your personal purchase quota if customer sales alone are not enough for you to remain ‘Qualified’ and qualify for commissions and/or discounts within a particular month.
My only real concern here is around the fact that there is not a lot of information available in regards to the calculation of volume points for bonus and commission calculation. This can severely impact revenue so is something that I would be checking in more detail prior to joining.
I was unable to locate any negative reviews in terms of non-payment etc. although there were some negative comments about the quality of customer service and the MLM program itself – although it was not really anything that is uncommon in regards to MLM programs or products within this niche.
