Perfectly Posh MLM Review

Hey there sea changers, and welcome back to my series of MLM reviews. Today we are going to open the tub on the world of beauty products with my Perfectly Posh MLM Review. The online sale of beauty products can be extremely lucrative with many making a good living selling items via online stores and affiliate marketing. Added to this obviously is the array of beauty based multi level marketing programs that are available. So, what is the Perfectly Posh MLM all about? Let’s have a look and find out…

What is MLM?

Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs are the traditional mainstay of the ‘party plan’ world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. and, of course within the beauty/cosmetics, supplements and essential oils markets. MLMs have become more popular in recent times – mainly due to the fact that much of the sales and marketing is now being managed online – with companies in other niches are starting to get in on the action.

The ‘multi level’ aspects of MLM come from its hierarchical nature in which you make commissions based not only on those that you sell to, but also the sales of those whom you ‘sign’ into membership arrangements as well.

In short, the process works as follows:

  1. You join the program, either via referral from another person (known as your up line) or directly through their website.
  2. You promote the products of the company via parties, workshops or online.
  3. As you make sales, you offer incentives to your customers to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
  4. That new member is then placed ‘underneath’ you in a hierarchical arrangement (known as your down line).
  5. You, and a number of levels of your up line, then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
  6. If they manage to refer their customers into memberships, they also become a member of your down line allowing you to make up line commissions as well.

The number of levels of your up and down lines will vary depending on the program you have joined. Commission rates will also change as your down line grows or contracts and many will also offer other incentives such as total company sales percentages and/or access to membership prizes as your own business grows.

MLM Program outline

The Perfectly Posh MLM program calls their members ‘#POSHboss’s (or Influencers but I like POSHboss better) who are part of a program that has recently been overhauled to remove the “complex and often confusing steps” of network marketing down lines and pyramid pay structures replacing it with a three sphere influencer plan.

Perfectly Posh MLM Review - circle of Influence

The Perfectly Posh compensation plan (known as their Pay Plan) is available on their website so here are the basics as I have found them…

Base Commission rate: 20% to 40% for personal sales

Down line commission rates:

  • 10 – 15% for sales made by personal recruits
  • 10 – 15% for sales made by their first level recruits (your second line)

Minimum monthly spend to qualify for commissions

To qualify for commissions under the Spheres of Influence, POSHbosses are required to meet monthly PV targets of at least 500 per month. This can be made of personal or customer sales generated via in person or online parties, social media or via the website. Base 20% sales commissions however can be earned without the need to meet or maintain sales targets.

Payment terms: Instantly and Monthly.

Application required?: Yes, Application form on website.

Purchase requirements to join: Yes

New POSHbosses are required to purchase one of two Starter kits at a cost of $30 or $99 which includes business items and products:

The $99 kit includes:

  • Sassyooma™ Exfoliating Jelly Wash
  • Sassyooma™ So Soapy
  • Honey Honey!™ Body Crème
  • The Healer™ Skin Stick
  • Show Me What You’re Mermaid Of™ Big Fat Yummy Hand Crème
  • BFF: Best Face Forever™ Exfoliating Face Wash
  • Moisturize 911™ Caffeinated Face Crème
  • Mint Floral Cosmetic Bag
  • Mini Pink Ink™ Catalog (10 pack)
  • Polka-Dotted Guide
  • Pick Your 6 Notepads (3 pack)
  • You Deserve to be Pampered Sample Card (10 pack)
  • Heat Seal Sample Packettes (20 pack)
  • Posh Pay (Hyperwallet) Fee

Marketing materials provided: As per starter kit above.

Within most MLM programs, commissions are determined by the total personal volume (PV) generated by the POSHboss and their down line within a calendar month with points assigned to each product. These point allocations can range from 50 to 100% of the retail price of each product (before tax and shipping) and vary from item to item and currency of sale.

In the case of the Perfectly Posh MLM program, PV is calculated at 100% of the USD retail sales price (which is good). This means that if a product is sold for $100 with a PV of 100, then payments are calculated on the total $100 of the sale cost (excluding shipping and tax).

How can I get paid?

Ok, so keeping in mind the restructured compensation plan, Perfectly Posh offers three ways in which POSHbosses can earn commissions when they promote and sell products. These are extremely straight forward without all of the extra bonus and payment options of most other programs within this niche (such as Younique and Monat for example). Let’s check them out below…

1. Personal Sales Commission

These are the base commissions (the first section of the Sphere of Influence) earned by the general day to day retail sales that POSHbosses can generate via parties, popups, social media or online. There are five tiers of personal commissions based on sales volume as follows:

Perfectly Posh MLM Review - retail commissions

There are no minimum sales targets required to qualify for the base level retail commissions. Higher rate targets are as above.

Note: Party Hosts do not receive commission payments however do earn rewards for their efforts to host parties. These rewards as follows:

2. Frontline Volume

Frontline Volume (FLV) commissions are the second segment of the Sphere of Influence where commissions are earned on the sales of those personally recruited by the POSHboss (the traditional first level down line). Commissions are earned in two tiers as follows:

Perfectly Posh MLM Review - FV commissions

POSHbosses are required to reach a personal target of at least 500PV to qualify for Frontline Volume Commissions.

3. Secondline Volume

This is the third segment of the Sphere of Influence where POSHbosses earn commissions based on the sales of their second level down line – i.e. the sales of those personally recruited by their own first level down lines. Secondline Volume (SLV) commissions can be earned as follows:

POSHbosses are required to reach a personal target of at least 1000PV to qualify for Secondline Volume Commissions.

Ranking structure

Most MLM programs use ranking structures on which to base commission payments and other bonuses upon. These are not utilised by Perfectly Posh due to their payment processes being managed via the Sphere of Influence.

That said, as is common with almost all MLM programs, some commissions payments are determined by both the number of members within the POSHboss’s down line (FLV and SLV), and the total sales made by those members per month.

What is good about it?

So, after a good look around the site and looking at all the options I could find, I do like the following:

  • Commission rates for entry level sales are good.
  • Program is simple and easy to follow.
  • Commissions can be earned without the need to meet sales targets.
  • There is no complex ranking and downline structure.

What is no so good about it?

There are also some things to be aware of including:

  • There are some joining costs.
  • There are not the full array of bonus options available with many other programs.

How much can you make?

Perfectly Posh does not provide an income disclosure statement on its website however as with most MLM programs, it has to be assumed from the compensation plan that the percentage of members making the upper rank levels – and hence earning a living – is very low (usually less than 1%).

My final thoughts

Look, MLM is not an easy platform to make money in and although the compensation plan here is quite unique there is still not enough here in my opinion to put this program above the many others I have seen. However, the program is pretty straight forward with common commission arrangements and the ability to make sales online or via parties. So if you love beauty products, have access to a large customer list and the ability to generate good sales via online processes, then the 20 – 40% base commission rates might just appeal here.

Once you have joined, there are not the usual financial pressures of needing to make minimum personal purchases in order to qualify for commissions as long as you can make them within your retail sales operations. Although from what I can see, I think if you are going to succeed within this MLM program, you will need to have a good array of demonstration stock on hand. You may also need to bump up your personal purchase quota if customer sales alone are not enough for you qualify for commissions within a particular month.

I was unable to locate any negative reviews in terms of non-payment etc. although there were some negative comments about the quality of customer service and the MLM program itself – although it was not really anything that is uncommon in regards to MLM programs or products within this niche.

Paul and Nic Logo - Make that Sea Change

Hey there, my name is Paul and I am the owner and founder of Make That Sea Change.  I spent 30 years in a cubicle working the 9 to 5 grind and just wanted to live at the beach.  I was lucky enough to achieve that with the help of my wife and our new Pilates studio.

Then I decided to help fund my new sea change with some affiliate marketing.  I joined Wealthy Affiliate, and as they say, the rest is history.

  1. Although this review is quite thorough, there is actually a Monthly Award, Pool Bonus and Annual Award that makes the compensation plan much richer than is shown in the above outline.

Note: This is an unbiased review as I am not a member of the any of the programs listed here (and hence make no commissions from any of the links included within this post). The reason for this is that I prefer to write these posts based on what a newbie would be seeing if they were interested in joining – that way I feel I can make a better judgment on what it is that these companies are offering within their programs.
