Let’s start with Petco, a site that encompasses almost everything pets. It has a massive range covering all of the well-known brands as well as “unique and hard to find pet supplies that your visitors can’t find elsewhere”. You can search by either product type or by animal.

Its main point of difference however is for those looking at more water based product categories with a large range of aquarium and pond needs such as fish tanks, lighting and plants. There is also opportunity here for dropshipping arrangements for fish tanks etc.

Now we step into the world of pet luxury with possibly the largest site in this post.  Bitch New York is the “ultimate online boutique store for luxury dog clothing and accessories” with so much stuff that I could not even begin to list it all here.  Their range of products does however include:

• Carriers

• Beds
• Bowls

• Grooming essentials.

The site has a great balance between luxury and price point making it a fantastic option for any pet or dog affiliate business to base itself on as well as a cross sell for other luxury, furniture, or travel niches. Their brands are well known and there is also a cool little blog to either provide information to your readers or post ideas for your own site.

But do not fear, there are a number of pet based Keto sites out there including Ketonatural Pet Foods. Yep, if you are in the pet care game, then this site might be for you.

The products on this site currently only provide for dogs (I have read that they will be expanding soon) and include a number of keto based dog foods in a few different sizes and flavours.

If you are also looking for more information within this market, then the site also contains free membership to their academy pages designed to assist you with everything you need to know about the health of the canine members of your family. This includes access to:

Obviously there is not enough here to build an entire affiliate site around however it would make a fantastic addition to any pet related  business or even those aimed at gifts, home decor or special occasion sites as well.

Amazon associates

Alternatively, should you wish to set up your site up with a range from a few different brands or companies on the same site then you can set yourself up via Amazon. Amazon provides access to these products and has a fairly good affiliate program as well. So if you wish, join the Amazon Associates program, locate the relevant pet related products within Amazon itself and you can post links on your own site as per below:

Amazon’s commission rates are nowhere near as high as some of the programs listed above (4 – 7%) however some prefer this avenue due to the sheer amount of traffic and trustworthiness that comes with a company site of this size.

How to find your own affiliate programs

As stated earlier, by outlining the sites above I have really just tried to give you a good cross section of the types of sites that are out there by listing the really good ones in each ‘category’. That does not mean that you cannot find affiliate programs that better suit what it is that you are trying to do within this space – especially as I could never even begin to cover every pet type or sub niche in the one post. Luckily for us, there is a simple way to find these programs online.

All you need to do is enter “affiliate: niche type” into your search engine (substituting ‘niche type‘ for whatever product it is that you are choosing to sell).

We can even dig a little deeper with a more specific search

There are pet supply affiliate programs for everything else that we have listed at the top of this page as well – you will just need to have a look around until you find one or two that suit your site. Once you have completed your searches, you can look through and find programs that:

• Relate to your niche/problems that you are solving.
• Have quality products – your brand can be severely damaged if you promote poor quality products.
• Have solid payment and customer service arrangement.
• Pay decent commissions.
• Have good testimonials covering commission payouts and quality of product.

In most cases, you will need to apply for the program before you are allowed to promote their products – don’t take this step lightly or you will be rejected. Affiliate programs will generally want to know:

• Your website name.
• Traffic levels.
• Why you want to join – (so I can make money by selling your horse bridles is unfortunately not generally a good enough answer).
• How you plan to promote their products.
