Hey there sea changers, and welcome back to my series of MLM reviews. Today we are going to a take look into the world of coffee and weight loss with my revital U MLM Review. We all know that coffee is and extremely popular and lucrative market. However I was surprised when I started to see just how many MLM programs are starting to get in on the action as either their main product or an add on to others. So, what is the revital U MLM program all about? Let's have a look and see…
What is MLM?
Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs are the traditional mainstay of the ‘party plan' world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. and, of course within the beauty/cosmetics, supplements and essential oils markets. It is not as prevalent within the coffee industry but as MLMs have become more popular in recent times – mainly due to the fact that much of the sales and marketing is now being managed online – companies in other niches are starting to get in on the action.

The ‘multi level' aspects of MLM come from its hierarchical nature in which you make commissions based not only on those that you sell to, but also the sales of those whom you ‘sign' into membership arrangements as well.
In short, the process works as follows:
- You join the program, either via referral from another person (known as your up line) or directly through their website.
- You promote the products of the company via parties (which is where the term ‘network marketing' comes from), workshops or online .
- As you make sales, you offer incentives to your customers to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
- That new member is then placed ‘underneath' you in a hierarchical arrangement (known as your down line).
- You, and a number of levels of your up line, then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
- If they manage to refer their customers into memberships, they also become a member of your down line allowing you to make up line commissions as well.
The number of levels of your up and down lines will vary depending on the program you have joined. Commission rates will also change as your down line grows or contracts and many will also offer other incentives such as total company sales percentages and/or access to membership prizes as your own business grows.
What is revital U?
Calling itself the “Sample First Company”, revital U was founded by Andrew McWilliam in 2016. The sales focus of the company is based on its “You Don't Have To Sell… Just Sample!” philosophy. This is based on the theory that once you send some free samples to your friends and acquaintances, they will love the product so much that they will just have to buy (and keep buying as we will see below).
revital U is based in Dallas, TX in the United States.
What do they Sell?
As mentioned above, revital U work predominately in the weight loss space with their range of coffee, tea and other supplements. This includes:
- Smart Coffee – weightloss coffee
- Smart Caps – coffee based weight loss supplement capsules
- Smart Cocoa – appetite suppressing cocoa supplement/drink
- Sweet Dreams – Hemp oil based dietary drops
- Slim Tea – weightloss tea
Item costs appear to fall into the medium price range of around $40 to $50 per item keeping it on par with others in this niche such as Vida Divina and Organo.
MLM Program outline
The revital U MLM program calls their members ‘Brand Influencers' (BIs) who are part of what appears to be a very simple program with a limited number of common payment options. It doesn't however offer the full array of bonuses available in many other modern MLM arrangements. I could not find their compensation plan on their website but it did appear on a simple web search so here are the basics as I have found them…
Base Commission rate: 5% to 25% – dependent on number of active customers
Down line commission rates: 1 – 2% to 4 generations (level 1 down line is 2% – rank Qualified Brand Influencer and above)
Minimum monthly spend to qualify for commissions
To qualify for commissions, sponsors are required to maintain a rank of Qualified Brand Influencer or above meaning that they have at least 5 active BIs within their down line.
Payment terms: Monthly.
Application required?: Yes, Application form on website.
Purchase requirements to join: Yes
New BIs are required to subscribe to the revital U virtual office for $29.99
Due to the ‘sample first' sales method, no further minimum monthly purchases are required.
Marketing materials provided: Personalized website, a Sample Platform, a Mobile App, full access to our online business system (U Office), full corporate support, and executive module business and leadership training.
Within most MLM programs, rankings and commissions are determined by the total personal volume (PV) generated by the BI and their down line within a calendar month with points assigned to each product. These point allocations can range from 50 to 100% of the retail price of each product (before tax and shipping) and vary from item to item and currency of sale.
In the case of the revital U MLM program, it does look at though PV is calculated at 100% of the USD retail sales price. This means that if a product is sold for $50, then commission payments are calculated on the full amount. Hence, then if a downline commission rate is 10% then the payment to the BI would total $5.00 (i.e.10% of $50).

How can I get paid?
Ok, so from what I can garner from the compensation plan, there are 5 ways in which BIs can make money when they promote and sell revital U items. These are fairly straight forward however do appear to be heavily influenced by recruitment
(taking it dangerously close to pyramid scheme territory) rather than just sales. The 5 payment options for the revital U MLM program are outlined as follows:
1. New Customer Bonuses
The New Customer Bonus is designed to entice new BIs to hit the ground running with new customer sign ups. Bonuses of up to $500 can be paid based on the number of new customers signed as follows:
2. Personal Customer Commission
These are the base commissions earned by the general day to day retail sales that BIs can generate via their personalized website. There are four tiers of personal customer commissions based on the number of active customers within the BIs down line as per below:
As above, to qualify for personal customer commissions, BIs are required to meet and maintain ‘Qualified' rank via a minimum of 5 personally enrolled customers within their down line.
3. Team Customer Commissions
Team Customer Commissions are revital U's version of the traditional unilevel commission structures prevalent within many MLM programs. Within the revital U MLM program, commissions are paid to 4 generations based on the rank of the BI and the number of active personal customers within their down line as follows:
- An open line allows BIs to earn a certain commission on the total volume of team members who have not reached the same rank as them or higher.
- A Generation is created when a BI anywhere within the sponsor's downline reach the same rank or higher.
4. Rank Up Bonus
The Rank Up Bonus is a commonly utilised network marketing payment option that rewards BIs for advancing up to the higher ranks within the program. In this case, one-time bonuses can be earned as follows:
- Become an Executive within 30 days – $250.
- Become a Senior within 60 days – $500.
- Becomes a Regional within 90 days – $1,000.
- Achieve National Brand Influencer status at any point in time – $5,000.
- National Brand Influencers who rank up to Global Brand Influencer status – $10,000.
- Global Brand Influencers who accomplish the status of Platinum Brand Influencer – $50,000.
5. Global Bonus Pool
Global Bonus Pool program allows leaders of each rank to earn 5% of the gross profit of the entire company paid quarterly.
In order to qualify for this, BIs must:
- Be at rank of Executive or higher on the first day of each month within the quarter.
- Personally enrol 3 new BIs and 3 new customers within the quarter.
- Have an enrolment date is prior to the first month of the quarter.
Ranking structure
revital U, as with most MLM programs, uses ranking structures on which to base commission payments and other bonuses upon. Rankings for the revital U MLM program are as follows (note personal and team sales qualification targets as well):
Again, as is common with almost all MLM programs, rank progression is determined by both the number of members within the BIs down line, and the total sales made by those members per month. Ranks can rise and fall based on the ability (or dis-ability) to reach the required member and sales targets.
What is good about it?
So, after a good look around the site and looking at all the options I could find, I do like the following:
- Program is quite simple and easy to follow.
- Coffee and weight loss are lucrative markets.
What is no so good about it?
There are also some things to be aware of including:
- There are some joining costs.
- Commission rates for down line sales are very low.
- Program is heavily based on customer and BI recruitment.
- Ongoing FDA issues to do with supplement ingredients and manufacture.
How much can you make?
revital U does not provide an income disclosure statement on its website however as with most MLM programs, it has to be assumed from the compensation plan that the percentage of members making the upper rank levels – and hence earning a living – is very low (usually less than 1%).
My final thoughts
Look, MLM is not an easy platform to make money in and there is not much that I have seen here to put this program above the many others I have seen. In fact, I think this one may be a little more difficult due to the lower commission rates and limited number of bonus payment options within the compensation plan.
Once you have joined, there are not the usual financial pressures of needing to make minimum personal purchases in order to qualify for commissions as long as you can continue to maintain pre-set active customer levels. You are also only able to use personal purchases as 1 customer slot meaning personal purchase quotas cannot be of assistance if customer sales alone are not enough for you to remain ‘Qualified' for commissions within a particular month.
Reviews and FDA issues
I was unable to locate any negative reviews in terms of non-payment etc. although there were some negative comments about the quality of customer service and the MLM program itself – although it was not really anything that is uncommon in regards to MLM programs in general.
In terms of the product though, there are a lot of negative reviews online in regards to products not working as a weight loss solution. Although these are not qualified as to what other behaviours the customers were exhibiting (diet, exercise etc.) whilst using these products.
Also, in 2019 the company received a warning letter from the FDA in regards to “violations of FDA’s regulations for Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) in Manufacturing, Packaging, Labeling, or Holding Operations for Dietary Supplements”. This was to do with the failure to establish “specifications for each dietary supplement for the identity, purity, strength, and composition of the finished batch of the dietary supplement…”.
There are also some further issues again in 2019 to do with the use of Octodrine. This effected a number of MLM companies who promote coffee as a dietary supplement. revital U Smart Coffee was included in this list.
I was unable to locate any response from revital U in my research (please comment below if this is not the case).
To be honest, based on the low commission rates and FDA issues above, I would be doing a lot more research into this company before joining.
Conclusion
