Trévo LLC MLM Review

Trévo LLC MLM Review

Hey there sea changers, and welcome back to my series of MLM reviews. Today we are going to look into an interesting MLM program that offers only three products with my Trevo LLC MLM Review. This is way less than many other MLM programs that I have looked into so I guess the key here is to determine whether this is an advantage or disadvantage to potential members. So what is Trévo LLC and its MLM program all about? Let’s have a look and find out…

What is MLM?

Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs are the mainstay of the ‘party plan’ world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. and, of course within the supplements and Hemp/CBD markets. MLM has become a little more popular lately – mainly due to the fact that much of the sales and marketing is now being managed online – alleviating the need to run parties – and, more importantly, not hassle everybody you know to join (you can of course, but you don’t have to).

The ‘multi level’ aspects of MLM come from its hierarchical nature in which you make commissions based not only on those that you sell to, but also the sales of those whom you ‘sign’ into membership arrangements as well.

In short, the process works as follows:

  1. You join the program, either via referral from another person (known as your up line) or directly through their website.
  2. You promote the products of the company via parties, workshops or online.
  3. As you make sales, you offer incentives to your customers to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
  4. That new member is then placed ‘underneath’ you in a hierarchical arrangement (known as your down line).
  5. You, and a number of levels of your up line, then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
  6. If they manage to refer their customers into memberships, they also become a member of your down line allowing you to make up line commissions as well.

The number of levels of your up and down lines will vary depending on the program you have joined. Commission rates will also change as your down line grows or contracts and many will also offer other incentives such as total company sales percentages and/or access to membership prizes as your own business grows.

MLM Program outline

The Trévo MLM program calls their members Life and Health Coaches. Their compensation plan is directly available on their site and contains an interesting program with a unique method of down line management and a number of commission and bonus options. The structure of the program takes a little to work out but it appears that once a new Coach is entered into the system, they are automatically placed into what is called a Single Line Matrix. The next new Coach is placed underneath them to 8 generations and so on as follows:

Trevo LLC MLM Review - Single Line Matrix

This means that all commissions and bonuses are paid on all sales made within a Coach’s 8 generation down line including personally recruited members that they generate (called the width). Based on that information, here are the basics as I have found them (please comment below if anything is inaccurate)…

Base Commission rate: 20 – 3% (based on retail sales to 8 generations)

Down line commission rates: As per down line commission rates above

Minimum monthly spend to qualify for commissions

  • Coaches are not required to meet minimum targets for base level commissions however there are some targets in place to achieve some of the personally sponsored commission options and higher rank bonus options available.
  • If a Life and Health Coach goes 90 days without earning a commission (this requires a minimum 75 QVP volume in one of the three months) they will automatically be re-classified as an Elite Customer and lose the opportunity to qualify for any commissions.

Payment terms: Monthly.

Application required?: Yes, Application form on site

Purchase requirements to join: Yes – A Trévo PowerStart Business Systems kit is required at time of enrollment – prices range from $USD84 – $960.

I have seen reference to a membership joining fee but was unable to locate anything within the compensation plan or application form.  Some example kits are as below:

Trevo LLC MLM Review - Kits

Marketing materials provided: Replicated website, Lead Capture website and extensive training program

As with the most MLM programs, some of the down line commissions and rankings are determined by the total Group Volume Points (GVP) generated by the Coach and their down line within a calendar month. Most MLM programs manage it this way in that commissions are paid on the points assigned to a product rather than the entire sales total. In the case of the Trévo MLM Program, the total points allocated to a sale vary greatly based on the price paid. For example, a kit worth $150 generates 75 GVP points (50%) whereas the $960 kit earns 1000 points (100% +). So for example, if a product retails for $150 which gives it a 75 GVP rating, then the commission is calculated on $75. This means that if a commission rate for that product is 20% then it will generate a $15.00 payment to the sponsor (i.e. 20% of the $75 commissionable amount).

Qualifying Volume Points (QVP) are allocated as above but are earned based on the sales generated by Life and Health Coach via their personal website only.

How can I get paid?

The compensation plan promotes 8 ways in which Life and Health Coaches can make money when they promote and sell products. In this case these are quite unique for a MLM program and are outlined as follows:

Powerstart Systems Commissions

Powerstart Systems Commissions are designed to increase recruitment and paid to Coaches when a new enrollment is added to their downline based on the Trévo PowerStart Business Systems kit that they purchase. Systems are aligned to different categories based on their purchase cost as follows:

Commissions are then paid against the GVP totals down to the 8 generations of the single line matrix meaning that the more coaches that are recruited, the higher the commission payments paid. These are as follows:

Note: Life and Health Coaches do not need to meet minimum purchase targets to earn retail profit commissions/payments.

Powerstart Upgrade Commissions

If a Life and Health Coach upgrades their PowerStart Business Systems kit at any time, then those within the single line matrix up line will receive a commission based on a 100 – 200 QVP amount assigned to the upgrade. These extra commissions are then paid to 8 generations as follows:

Retail and Elite Customer Commissions

Retail and Elite Customer Commissions are the base profits earned by the general day to day retail sales that Life and Health Coaches generate via their personalised website. There are two main ways here:

  • Earn a commission of 20% of the purchase value if done so at retail prices (General retail customers are placed at Generation 1 of the Single Line Matrix).
  • Elite Customers are those that join that program to receive discounted products via monthly subscriptions. Commissions are earned on the discounted price that Elite Customers pay.

Retail and Elite Customer commissions are paid as follows:

Note: Distributors do not need to meet minimum purchase targets to earn retail profit commissions/payments.

QVP Commissions

The QVP Bonus is a payment generated based on the number of sales generated via the Coach’s personal website. These are paid to 8 generations but only if the following targets are met:

Once these sales targets are met, the following commissions are earned:

Bulk Pack Commissions

Bulk packs are used by coaches if they are looking to run presentations etc. in order to sell Trévo products. If a bulk pack purchase is made anywhere within the downline of a Life and Health Coach, they are paid a commission on that pack sale as follows:

Trevo LLC MLM Review - Bulk Pack Commissions

Global Team Pool Bonuses

Global Team Pool Bonuses are a common MLM bonus for higher ranks in that commissions are paid as a percentage of the total company sales volumes. In the case of the Trévo program, 15% of total QVP and Bulk Pack sales is paid out monthly in 15 separate 1% Pool Bonuses determined by the rank of the Life and Health Coach. The 1% Pool Bonus options are distributed as follows:

Trevo LLC MLM Review - Global Team Bonus

Luxury Car Bonus

The Luxury Car Bonus is another common payment option within many MLM programs for those who reach the upper ranks in that they can qualify for payments towards a motor vehicle purchase or lease. In the case of Trévo, the Luxury Car Bonus payments are earned once the following GVP levels are reached (Executive Recognition Ranking and above):

Trevo LLC MLM Review - Car bonus levels

Coaches must meet the minimum criteria each month or the bonus will not be paid for any period that falls short. Cars must be one of BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes, Lexus, Range Rover or Cadillac.

Charity Legacy Bonus

Trévo Coaches who achieve a leader rank Black Diamond Elite Status and above will be rewarded with shares of the Trévo Charity Legacy Bonus. These shares will be distributed as donations to charities specified by these leaders, and will be made in the name of the participating leader.

Ranking structure

As you have probably noticed, many of the commissions and bonuses paid out above are reliant upon the ‘rank’ that Life and Health Coaches are assigned within the Trévo MLM program. This ranking structure is fairly straight forward where personal commissions earned rise based on total monthly QVP and the number of underlings within the Coach’s down line. Rank requirements are as follows:

What is good about it?

So, after a good look around the site and looking at all the options I could find, I do like the following:

  • Commission rates for entry level sales are good.
  • Great opportunity for immediate earning with the single line matrix structure.
  • Compensation plan information is easily located and comprehensive.
  • Large array of bonus options.

What is no so good about it?

There are also some things to be aware of including:

  • Some initial outlays required to join.
  • The compensation plan does take some reading to understand.
  • They only sell three products (although probably more of a risk than a con).

How much can you make?

Trévo does not provide projected income figures on its website. However, as per their statement that as of December 1 2015, 1% of active Trévo distributors qualify for the Luxury Car Bonus, then it has to be assumed that like most MLM programs that the percentage of members making the upper rank levels – and hence earning a living – is very low.

My final thoughts

Look, MLM is not an easy platform to make money in and whilst the Trévo program doesn’t appear to show any evidence of it being any easier than most others, it boasts a relatively modern arrangement with plenty of bonus options to strive for.

The main advantage here – and something that does set it apart from most others – is the single line matrix whereas Life and Health Coaches can earn commission from their downline immediately. This does appear to be a bit of a ‘luck of the draw’ arrangement but there is a good mixture of down line payment options for those that personally introduce new members as well.

Coaches can also earn commissions and retail profits without the need to personally purchase products (apart from the initial PowerStart Business Systems kit purchase). This means that they can get their business off the ground without any of the initial out-of-pocket costs that can strain the finances at this time. However, should they choose to undertake their sales processes via the party plan model, then Bulk Pack purchases will be required and if I am being honest, I think that to be successful in any MLM program, you will need to have a good understanding of the products, hence personal sales may be necessary.

I guess the only real thing to be aware of here is that they only sell three products which is in vast contrast to many others in the Supplements and CBD space which offer hundreds of products within their portfolios. The question really does come down to whether you feel that you have the capacity and customer list to make a good living selling these three items alone.

That said, there is nothing here that would make me tell you to avoid it completely as long as you go in with your eyes open to the fact that success in MLM is not easy and takes a good amount of time, patience and often, financial commitments as well.

I was unable to locate any negative reviews in terms of non-payment etc. however there was some negative comments about the quality of products and the MLM program itself – although it was not really anything that is uncommon in regards to MLM programs or products within this niche.

Conclusion

So there you have it, my honest review and appraisal of the Trévo MLM program. I hope it has been of assistance but as usual, if you have any questions or experience with this program please do not hesitate to reach out by commenting below – especially if any of my information is inaccurate.

Note: This is an unbiased review as I am not a member of the any of the programs listed here (and hence make no commissions from any of the links included within this post). The reason for this is that I prefer to write these posts based on what a newbie would be seeing if they were interested in joining – that way I feel I can make a better judgment on what it is that these companies are offering within their programs.
