What is Ezoic?
What do you get?
Once you sign up – you are required to integrate your website into Ezoic which allows you to access functionality as required. We will discuss each of these below however as I have just stated, you will be required to integrate your site/s to Ezoic in order for its functionality to work effectively. You will also need to have your site approved before you can setup your monetization processes. Let's look at this first:
Integration
As above, in order to access the full functionality of the platform, you will need to integrate your website. This can be achieved via 1 of 3 options as follows:
- DNS nameservers – This appears to be Ezoic's preferred method of integration whereas you change your nameserver addresses to them. This is done at the host (GoDaddy, Bluehost, KnownHost etc.) and takes about 24 hours to fully integrate. Prior to doing this you will need to ensure that your hosting plan allows such processes to occur.
- Cloudflare – For this option you will need to give Ezoic access to your Cloudflare account. In this case, your nameservers will already be directed to Cloudflare and Ezoic will utilize the same servers to manage its processes as well.
- WordPress plugin – the final option here is to give Ezoic access to your sitire via a WordPress plugin. It is my understanding that if you connect via this method you will be able to monetize but other functions such as SEO and sites peed will not work.
Monetization application and AdSense
We will discuss this more in the following section but in order to access the monetization features of Ezoic, you must apply and be approved. This will normally take between 1 and 7 days where Ezoic will check such areas as:
- Website content – must be helpful and not contain inappropriate materials (such as adult content or gambling)
- Traffic – Ezoic did have a limit of 10k visits per month but as far as I know have lifted this requirement in preference to a website with good traffic levels that is growing
- Be in “good standing” with Google AdSense – This means that even though you don't have to have an AdSense account, you can't have any red flags with them either. This can occur via committing ‘violations' within your AdSense account such as clicking your own ads or running inappropriate/incomplete websites. These are not allowed within Ezoic either however they will check your AdSense history as well.

Ezoic Functionality
Ok, now that that is out of the way, let's go through the functionality below…
Monetization
Monetization is where you setup your website to run ads and earn revenue. Once approved (see above), you can start to set up your preferences in regards to ad placement and the types of ads you want on your site. If you have an AdSense account, Ezoic will import your preferences from it in regards to:
- Types of ads to be run
- Devices that you want ads run on
- Maximum number of ads per page
From here, Ezoic will commence its AI processes to determine where and when to place your ads in order to give you the highest possible revenue returns – which takes up to 12 weeks. Of course you can manually adjust any of these settings at any time that suits you as well such as limiting the number of ads per page and which pages you don't wish to show ads on.
Revenue can also be earned via Ezoic's mediation with other ad networks such as AdSense and Header Bidding where it will reroute your revenue based on where the highest bid prices are located.
Speed
As the name suggests, Speed deals with the site download speeds of your sites. Ezoic's version is called Leap which they outline as “a toolset to help you improve the performance of your website by helping you find the causes of decreased performance and providing automated solutions to many of the most common problems”.
Once Leap has analyzed your site, it identifies areas that are limiting the speed of your site and highlights steps that can be taken to rectify them. In some cases, it can also do this automatically or if the issue is being caused by a plugin, recommend an alternative.
There are also other manual settings that you can look at such as:
- CSS settings
- Script execution
- Image optimization
- Caching
All of which can be set on a device level as well.
Video
Video is a newer function within Ezoic (at time of writing was still in the Beta stage) that allows for greater revenue collection via video ads. In short, it allows you to upload your videos into Ezoic which will display on your posts. As readers view your posts and see the videos, you earn income based on the ads that display within them.
Should you have a YouTube account, you can import your videos straight from there where Ezoic will replace them automatically on any post that you have them embedded upon (YouTube account integration and authorization required).
Of course you can then maintain settings for your video ads such as:
- Where the videos will display (if not already embedded)
- Devices that can show videos
- Video player settings (premium account needed for some adjustments here)
- Comment management
All in all, this is a great way to attract income on your videos without the need to meet YouTube's Ad targets (400hrs and 1k subscribers)
Humix
Humix is “global video network that allows publishers to increase traffic and revenue using digital video”. It is essentially another version of YouTube where users can upload their own videos which are visible to search engines.
They also allow for video ads to be shown meaning greater revenue can be earned by the publisher – even if they are running ads on YouTube.
SEO
Whilst not as comprehensive as other programs, the SEO section will check for such site traffic killers as broken links. There is also an option to test different tags within posts for best results.
Note: this section will require integration with your Google Search Console page.
Privacy
The privacy section allows for website owners to manage consent and privacy settings and comply with global standards such as GDPR and CCPA. Users can configure Ezoic to manage:
- SSL settings
- Privacy policy content
- Consent management
Analytics
The Ezoic Analytics section provides for a comprehensive outline of all the statistics in regards to your site including:
- Insights
- Revenue
- Traffic
- Audience
- Behavior
- Content
- Site Speed
- Traffic sources
- and so much more
Each section is fully customizable to allow you to identify critical information such as best performing posts in terms of revenue such as ePMV and where your visits are coming from.
Note: this section will require integration with Google Analytics.
Levels
Another aspect of Ezoic for members is its level system. As the traffic and revenue of the website grows, website owners can rise up through the Ezoic levels to earn access to a number of greater benefits and incentives including:

My experience
Ok, I have been using Ezoic for two months at time of writing an in that time have seen my advertising revenue increase by around 500%. The program is easy to use and at the times I have needed support, I have found it quick and responsive.
I would however highlight the fact that you must have your site hosted at a platform that allows DNS server management. I was not on a hosting platform that manages this hence had to change however the increased revenue has made this well worth it.
I run it in conjunction with AdSense and have found no issues or problems between the two – in fact, my AdSense revenue has also increased. And finally, the biggest pro in the whole program (apart from making money of course), is the big data analytics pages.
This information has not only assisted in identification of top earning pages, but also highlighted where improvements can be made across the other aspects of my websites as well.
