Hello there my oily sea changers. Today I am going to take us on a journey through 8 of the best essential oils affiliate programs to diffuse this year. My name is Paul and I have been making money in the affiliate marketing game for the past decade and have created this site to assist those of you looking to do the same.
Those of you familiar with the essential oils industry will know that the sales of these products is usually the domain of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) programs – namely Young Living and doTerra. I will quickly explain the difference between MLM and affiliate programs below but for this post, we are going to focus on essential oils sales via affiliate programs only.
- Artisan Aromatics
- Barefut
- Jade Bloom
- Rocky Mountain Oils
- Aromafloria
- Vibrant Blue Oils
- Amrita Oils
- Shamans Market
That's right! Wealthy Affiliate provided me with all of the tools and training I needed to get this post in front of my audience - a.k.a YOU!
You too can start your very own online business here that can make you money from anywhere in the world!!
Now, there are actually a few out there – many that I had not heard of – so there is definitely an opportunity to sell them in this fashion. For this post, I have had a look through and chosen my list simply by looking at:
- Commission rates
- Payment terms
- Cookie duration
- Application processes
- Affiliate/Marketing materials provided
So, let's clarify the different between MLM and affiliate marketing then check out the 8 that I came up with…
Essential Oils Affiliate Programs
Ok, so let's leave the MLM world alone and check out the best affiliate programs for selling essential oils.
1. Artisan Aromatics
Selling itself as having made “100% Pure and Natural Essential Oils Bottled by Hand in USA since 1993”, Artisan Aromatics offer a large range of products (over 150) including the not so common enfleurage oils. They only offer oils based products including:
- Essential oils – Artisianal, Organic and wild crafted
- Enfleurage oils
- Absolute oils
- Oil blends
The website also contains an extensive blog which you can refer readers to gain more information and build trust within the site prior to purchase.
Commission rate: 10%.
Payment terms: Once commission reaches $50.
Cookie duration: 30 days.
Application required?: Yes, basic personal information and promotion strategy.
Marketing materials provided: Text links and banners.
2. Barefut
Barefut is an all in one essential oil company that provides “100% pure essential oils at affordable prices”. It even backs this up with comparison charts pitting its prices against those of the bigger, more well-known companies:
Another advantage of this site is that it can allow you to expand your offerings (and give you more to write about) with other products including:
- Carrier Oils
- Balms
- Diffusers
- Diffuser necklaces
- Chakra bracelets
- Herbal Teas
- Bottle
- Books
There is also a decent blog section.
Commission rate: 20% first purchase, 10% subsequent purchase
Payment terms: Monthly
Cookie duration: Lifetime
Application required?: Basic form – personal details and email address
Marketing materials provided: Custom links and resources (banners and ads). 10% discount off personal purchases.
3. Jade Bloom
Like Barefut, Jade Bloom provides a complete range of essential oils and related products. Its oils line is comprehensive and the website categorizes them well to allow for easy referral within blog posts. Their products include essential oils and infused natural products such as:
- Shampoos and Conditioners
- Lip Balms
- Skin Lotions
- Toothpaste and mouthwash
- Deodorant
- Herbal Tea
The other standout opportunity here is the Jade Bloom University.
This is a free training course that takes you through the complete world of essential oils, their uses and benefits. Each course provides you with a ‘degree' at the end and includes a number of free oils.
As this course is free, you will not make a commission from it, however it is a fantastic way to introduce your readers to the company allowing you to make commissions off of the other products that they offer.
Commission rate: 15% first purchase, 5% subsequent purchase
Payment terms: Upon request for commissions over $10 (see note below)
Cookie duration: Lifetime
Application required?: Basic form – personal details and email address
Marketing materials provided: Custom links and widgets. Ability to add customers to your lifetime members list.
Note: Jade Bloom does require a minimum of 1 purchase before commissions will be released. I cannot however see any evidence of a minimum monthly spend.
4. Rocky Mountain Oils
Rocky Mountain Oils is a solutions based setup providing “essential oils that are pure and safe to use for the entire family”. Their site is set up to find oils based on a need rather than just listing them – they also provide a table listing their products and those of the big companies.
The differentiation here is a line of health supplements to work with their other products including:
- Soaps
- Household cleaning products
- Toothpaste
- Skin and body care
Commission rate: 9-16%
Payment terms: not listed
Cookie duration: 30 days
Application required?: Yes, personal and website information including details and traffic numbers
Marketing materials provided: Text links and banners

You too can start your very own online business here that can make you money from anywhere in the world!!
5. Aromafloria
Aromafloria is probably not technically an essential oils site rather one that focuses on aromatherapy which happens to include some essential oils within its products. Regardless, many use essential oils in aromatherapy – “the ancient art of using essential oils and botanical extracts for physical and psychological well-being” – so this site may fit in well when discussing aromatherapy as a use. Aromafloria's products include:
- Everything bath – salts, butter, scrubs, oils, lotions etc.
- Massage oils – scented and unscented
- Skin care
- Inhalation beads
Everything on the site is infused with, or designed for use with their USDA Certified Organic 100% Essential Oils.
Commission rate: 15%
Payment terms: Monthly – Once commission reaches $50
Cookie duration: N/A
Application required?: Yes, basic personal information.
Marketing materials provided: Text links – personal support
6. Vibrant Blue Oils
A pure, organic wild crafted essential oils company, Vibrant Blue Oils focus on the benefits of the oils in its products targeting areas such as:
- Stress and adrenal support
- Immunity boost
- Brain balance
- Mood and hormones
- Sleep
- Pain and inflammation
Essential oils can be purchased as single oils or as blends aimed at the symptoms listed above. If your site is focused on the use of oils for symptoms as listed above, then this could be a good site to promote.
Commission rate: 20%
Payment terms: Monthly – Once commission reaches $50
Cookie duration: N/A
Application required?: Yes, basic personal information.
Marketing materials provided: Text links, Images, copy, guest blogs and videos
7. Amrita Oils
Amrita is another all-inclusive essential oils site that sells just about everything to do with essential oils and holistic health. The founder, Dr. Christoph Streicher is a renowned ayurvedic expert on essential oils for both healing and personal skin care. Amrita's products include:
- Shampoos and Conditioners
- Lip Balms
- Skin Lotions
- Toothpaste and mouthwash
- Deodorant
- Herbal Tea
- Perfumes
- Diffusers
- insect repellents
- Carrier oils
A good extra included within this site is its white labeling service. White labeling is where you are able to purchase ‘blank' oils and sell them with your own label. This can be very effective if you are looking to sell your ‘own' oils at market stalls etc.
Commission rate: 10%
Payment terms: Monthly
Cookie duration: 30 Days
Application required?: This affiliate program is managed by Share-A-Sale. Applicants will need to apply for access to this program first and then to Amrita. Both applications will require personal and website information as well as traffic numbers and promotional strategies.
Marketing materials provided: Text links and banner ads
8. Shamans Market
Shamans Market is a probably not one focuses solely on essential oils however they do form quite a large part of their product range. All oils are 100% pure and distilled in small quantities from ecologically and sustainably harvested materials. Added to this, they also offer a massive range of fair and ethically traded products including:
This list probably doesn't do the site justice but if you are in any of these niches, then this site would work well for you.
Commission rate: 10%
Payment terms: Monthly
Cookie duration: 30 days
Application required?: Yes, basic personal information and promotional strategies.
Marketing materials provided: Text links and personal support
MLM vs Affiliate Marketing
Although the difference is not huge, they can effect the way how you earn your commissions and have different membership requirements. In short, they both work as follows:
MLM
MLM programs are the mainstay of the ‘party plan' world of products such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Amway etc. and are also popular within the big essential oils companies such as Young living and DoTerra. The process works as follows:
- You attract a visitor to your site and convert them to the sales page.
- They are offered an incentive to sign up as a member of the program (there are different names for this but they all mean the same thing).
- That new member is then placed ‘underneath' you in a hierarchical arrangement
- You then gain extra commissions for everything they sell as well.
Affiliate programs
Affiliate programs are setup directly by companies that allow you to join and then refer traffic to them via customised affiliate links. You generally do not make any commissions for anybody you refer to the company and there are no minimal purchase requirements or up line pressure.
At the end of the day, affiliate marketers can be successful utilising either or both sales platforms. The main point of difference apart from making commissions from the sales of those you refer however is that most MLM arrangements require a minimum spend per month in order to qualify for those payments – for example, Young Living expect you to spend roughly $100 per month in order to earn commissions for other sales that you, or your down line refer. This can make things a little tight if your site is new and not making any money as yet.
How to find your own affiliate programs
Although I have listed 8 sites that I have investigated and found to be pretty good, that does not mean however that you cannot find affiliate programs that better suit what it is that you are trying to do within this space. Luckily for us, there is a simple way to find these programs online. All you need to do is enter “affiliate: niche type” into your search engine. (obviously substituting ‘niche type‘ for whatever product it is that you are choosing to sell).
We can also start to narrow our searches if we wish:
Or even a particular compatible product:
There are affiliate programs for everything else such as natural remedies, chemical free products and so on – you will just need to have a look around until you find one or two that suit your site. Once you have completed your searches, you can look through and find programs that:
- Relate to your niche/problems that you are solving.
- Have quality products – your brand can be severely damaged if you promote poor quality product.
- Have solid payment and customer service arrangement.
- Pay decent commissions.
- Have good testimonials covering commission payouts and quality of product.
In most cases, you will need to apply for the program before you are allowed to promote their products – don’t take this step lightly or you will be rejected. Affiliate programs will generally want to know:
- Your website name.
- Traffic levels.
- Why you want to join – (so I can make money by selling your oils is unfortunately not generally a good enough answer).
- How you plan to promote their products.
Conclusion
